This FAQ covers the current licensing model for BlenderSync.

Do I need a license for both add-ons?

No.

You only pay for BlenderSync for Revit. BlenderSync for Blender is free to install and use.

Is there a free trial?

Yes.

BlenderSync for Revit includes a 14-day free trial. The trial starts from the License panel inside the Revit add-in.

No license key is required to start the trial.

Do I need an account or card to start the trial?

No.

The current trial flow starts inside the Revit add-in. There is no separate sign-up step and no card is required to begin the trial.

How do I activate a paid license?

Open the License window from the BlenderSync tab in Revit, enter your license key, and confirm.

If the key is valid, the license state updates to Paid active.

What does a seat mean?

One seat equals one active machine.

Each activation uses one seat from your subscription. If you activate BlenderSync for Revit on another machine, that consumes another seat.

Can I change the number of seats later?

Yes.

Seats can be increased or reduced later, and the subscription is billed monthly.

Can I move a seat to another machine?

Yes.

Seats are tied to device activations, not permanently locked forever. When you deactivate or a subscription lapses, the seat is released.

If old device leases are still taking up seats, use Purge expired seats in the License window to clear inactive leases.

What license states can I see?

The License window can show these states:

Not activated
Checking
Trial active
Trial expired
Paid active
Paid expired
Needs attention
Seat limit reached
Offline

These are there to show whether the current machine is licensed and whether any action is needed.

What happens if the seat limit is reached?

You will not be able to activate another machine until a seat is available.

If this happens, free up inactive leases with Purge expired seats, or increase the number of seats on the subscription.

What happens if my license expires while Revit is open?

BlenderSync reacts immediately:

sync and setup buttons become disabled
any active LiveSync session stops automatically

Open the License window to check the current state and restore access.

Which commands work without a license?

These are available even before activation:

Do I need to license BlenderSync for Blender separately?

Where do I manage the subscription?

Subscription changes are handled through the billing flow, not inside BlenderSync itself.
